Singapore - The Second adventure in Asia begins   I decided to travel to Southeast Asia again at the end of 2016. So I flew from Germany to Singapore first. Singapore - the " Lion City " - was founded in 1819 by Stamford Raffles as a trading post of the East india Company and is a cultural paradise with Indian, Chinese and Malaysian influences.      The most famous places in Singapore are the Marina Bay Sands Hotel, the Garden by the Bay and the Merlion . Especially at night, these sightseeing places are unbelievable breathtakingly. Since it was the end of November, there was a christmas music program at the Garden by the Bay, which was a surprise for me. Stockholm - The Crown of the Kingdom   I'm really interested in the Scandinavian countries. So I decided to visit Stockholm, the capital of Sweden for a long weekend in May 2016. The city was founded in 1252 by the Swedish statesman Birger Jarl.       At first, I visited the Stockholm City Hall ( Stockholms Stadshus ) in Kungsholmen district. It's the building of the Muncipal Council for the City and it houses conference rooms as well as ceremonial halls, because it's the venue of the Nobel Prize banquet.       The city's oldest section is Gamla Stan - the Old Town - located on the original small islands of the city's earliest settlements and still featuring the medieval street layout. There, I saw the large German Church ( Tyska kyrkan ), the Riddarhuset , Stockholms Palace ( Kungliga slottet ), the Riddarholmskyrkan (the oldest building in Stockholm) and the Storkyrkan . Berlin, Berlin - Wir fahren nach Berlin!    Finally, I went to Berlin - the capital of Germany. Berlin is not the beautifulst city in the world, but the city is famous for the history and the Berlin Wall , which bordered the East and the West German parts until the 9th November 1989.      In Berlin, I visited the district Berlin-Mitte, which is famous for many sightseeing places. For example, there is the TV Tower at Alexanderplatz, where it's possible to have a nice view over the city. Moreover, there are the Berlin Cathedral and the Museum Island . But the most important places in Berlin are the Brandenburg Gate , which is an 18th-century neoclassical monument in Berlin , built on the site of a former city gate that marked the start of the road from Berlin to the town Brandenburg an der Havel, and the Reichstag building , which houses the German parliament.
