Prague - Sightseeing in the historical capital of Bohemia

   After a 7 hours train ride from Budapest to Prague, I arrived in the capital of the Czech Republic. It was a quite touristic city, but also a city full of interesting sightseeing places. The sightseeing tour started in the center of Prague. The old town was really beautiful with the Old Town Square, Wenceslas Square and the famous Charles Bridge with many locks of couples. 


   After crossing the Charles Bridge, I also saw the Prague Castle, which is the official residence of the President of the Czech Republic, and the St. Vitus Cathedral, which is also situated entirely within the Prague Castle complex. In the afternoon, I also visited the Dancing House, which was designed by the architects Vlado Milunic and Frank Gehry in 1992.

Leipzig - A sunny weekend in Eastern Germany   On 20th April, I went to Leipzig for a weekend trip. I decided to travel to Leipzig for joining the 10 km run and for visiting the city and its great sightseeing places during a sunny spring weekend. Since my hostel was in the city centre, I could start the sightseeing tour at the St. Thomas Church (Thomaskirche), which is associated with well-known composers like Johann Sebastian Bach, who was the music director of the church from 1723 until his death in 1750. For this reason, there is also a statue of Bach in front of the church. The church itself is 76 m long and has a 68 m high church tower. Another famous church in Leipzig, where Bach was the music director too, is the St. Nicholas Church (Nikolaikirche). The construction started in 1165 in a Romanesque style, but it also got Gothic and Baroque elements in the 16th and 18th century. In 2015, the church celebrated its 850th anniversary. Thailand 2019

  Coming back to Asia feels like coming home      I had the dream to travel to Asia every two years, after I came to Thailand the first time in 2014. Since I couldn't find the time to fly to Southeast Asia in 2018, I made the plan to come back this year. Moreover, a friend asked me to travel to Asia - for her, it was the first time - so it was a pleasure for me to join and travel to Thailand with her. We decided to take a direct flight from Frankfurt to Bangkok and on our first day in Bangkok, we had to get used to the heat, the culture and the food. Even for me, everything felt different than the last time in Thailand. Taiwan 2023

Travelling to my favourite Continent - Exploring the Wonders of Taiwan   I really wanted to travel to Asia again, so I decided to travel to Taiwan, since I always heard, how amazing the Taiwanese food is. Moreover, it was a chance to meet my friend Ignacio again. We have met the last time in Göttingen seven years ago. Luckily, I also got some really nice advices from one of my colleagues, who stayed in Taiwan for one year. I was so thankful for all those suggestions, what to do and to eat in and around Taipei, because I had to stay the most time of my visit in the North of the island due to a typhoon, which hit the island in the first week of my vacations.
